Want to go back in time without leaving one of the world’s modern cities? Well, take a ride with Trains on New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Nostalgia Train — a subway train of original equipment dating back 80 years.
See you on board!
Only from Trains!
I can remember when the R1-9’s were in regular service on the D train on the Brighton Beach line. Sometimes during rush hours so many people would jam aboard the conductor had troubles getting the doors to close.
The conductor had to stand between two cars to operate the doors. I can’t imagine that was liked on the Brighton line, the Culver line or any of the above ground locations in rain or snow.
