Steam locomotive anniversary excursions: To celebrate joint anniversaries, the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society and the Indiana Northeastern Railroad have combined forces to create the Indiana Rail Experience. Well-travelled Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 Berkshire-type steam locomotive No. 765 now has a place to run near the FWRHS shop in northern Indiana. In August, we travelled north for the Tri-State Steam Excursion to see the 765 operating between Edon, Ohio, and Hillsdale, Michigan. Included in this video is a meetup with the two steam locomotives from the Little River Railroad, which came over to Hillsdale for short excursions during the layover.
