  1. Kalmbach published a book titled Easy-To-Build Freight Cars based on 24 “Dollar Car Projects. Was written bu Gordon Odegard, Eric Stevens, H.O. Williams and others around 1971. Mike Bray

  2. looking for plans for a 40 foot wood reefer, Is there a set of plans in one of the arcived Model Railroaders. Thank You

  3. My question is regarding Blue Point turnout machines; specifically on the Olympia project RR. Are all your turnout machines situated under the layout the same way so as to have all of the knobs pressed in for the “normal” position of the turnouts or was that not necessarily possible in each case?

  4. David : Last week I left a comment about not being able to find 3M NO RUN TACKY
GLUE. I did finally find it at Amazon and purchased a bottle of it. Thank you for telling us about this glue. I also am a fan of Midday Modeler, thank you and good luck with midday modeler.
    Respectfully : Rod Coble

  5. Cheryl Sassi explained her technique for trees and tree roots in “How to model hardwood trees,” January 24, 2020.

  6. I have a ultrasonic cleaner and I am very satisfied the results of the unit. I use Simply Green diluted 2oz to a gallon of water. I also suggest large tea leaf baskets if you breakdown trucks all the way down so you don’t lose any small parts while your rinsing.

  7. We use DI Water to clean parts all the time. This was at intel. I think the water is fine if it id DI water. It is all the other stuff like minerals, calcium and dirt suspended in the water that is the problem. DI water is mostly non conductive.

A substitute for DI would be distilled water for cleaning in your ultra sonic cleaner.

  8. I recently decided to visit Fostoria’s Irion Triangle. I found the MR article and copied the radio frequencies for NS and CSX. I bought a replacement scanner with a band that only scanned the railroad frequencies. It appears the codes have changed from railroad company code to AAR code. Is there a reference website for the AAR codes? And where are they used?

  9. I’m using Walthers new #6 code 83 turnouts on my new layout. I’m controlling them via Raspberry on an iPad. Do i still have to power the frogs and should they have a dedicated bus line if so.

  10. David, Tinker Cad is a free 3d program that has a small learning curve and there are many videos on you tube to get you going.
