ORLANDO, Fla. — Brightline today unveiled its “Freedom Express” trainset, which wraps 10 cars with designs marking key moments in American history. The train will be regular service through July.

The design was created in partnership with America250, the nonpartisan organization established by Congress to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

“Brightline is honored to help lead this national celebration and mark a pivotal moment in how America connects and moves,” Patrick Goddard, CEO of Brightline Florida, said in a press release. “This is one of the most meaningful and visually powerful train wraps yet, and we’re proud to share it with communities across the state of Florida.”

The train made its debut today with a trip from Orlando to Miami, with riders including what the company called “local community heroes” as well as stakeholders, partners, and transportation advocates.

The cars are wrapped with designs commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence; Washington crossing the Delaware; Lincoln at Gettysburg; the Golden Spike ceremony; the Statue of Liberty; the Wright Brothers’ first flight; the flag raising at Iwo Jima; Martin Luther King Jr. at the Lincoln Memorial, and the first moon landing.

“America’s 250th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the moments that have shaped our nation and the people who continue to move it forward,” said Jen Condon, executive vice president at America250. “Brightline’s Freedom Express offers a compelling way to share that history with communities across Florida, and we’re proud to partner with them to commemorate this milestone.”
