Amtrak Borealis

Trains.com staffer Ben Lake, narrates his rides aboard Amtrak’s newest Midwest region trains, the #1333 (westbound) and #1340 (eastbound) Borealis! Since operations began in May 2024, the Borealis trains now provide a second daily connection between Downtown Chicago, Ill. (CHI), Milwaukee, Wis. (MKE), and St. Paul-Minneapolis, Minn. (MSP)…and have already surpassed the 100,000 ridership mark!

In this video, you’ll first follow Ben on his trip from Milwaukee to Minneapolis, amidst Business Class amenities. And then, you’ll join him for a return trip to an alternative Milwaukee stop, the General Mitchell International Airport Amtrak station (MKA). Enjoy the views, as Ben captures the essence of this dairyland and riverside route, right along with insights about ticketing and riding one of Amtrak’s most popular trains!
