Join the Trains.com staff visiting the Model Railroad Club of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The club, established in 1934, boasts the country’s longest-running model railroad in the same location. Housed in a former train station built around 1917, the club’s O scale (1:48) layout, largely unchanged since 1950, operates as a “living museum”. Members once included a notable Milwaukee mayor, the founder of Model Railroader and Trains magazines; and scores of others eager to tackle the engaging, hands-on layout controls – as demonstrated by one current operator.

A landmark layout that's located underneath an active railroad main line
How does one get to visit this layout?
First model railroad club I ever visited in 1963. The main room had an operating pot belly stove in the right corner as one entered the door. It kept the room warm.
