Logo of Metropolitan Transportation AuthorityNEW YORK — No injuries were reported, but several hours of service disruptions resulted Sunday evening following the separation of cars on a New York subway train.

WABC-TV reports the third and fourth cars of a 4 train detached near the 149th Street-Grand Concourse station in the Bronx, leading to a partial shutdown of the 4 and 5 lines. WCBS-TV says the incident occurred about 5:15 p.m., and full service was not restored until about 11:30 p.m.

The news site Gothamist reports that 60 fire and emergency personnel responded to the incident, with the Fire Department of New York reporting it had the incident under control within an hour. All passengers on board were evacuated; no passenger count was available.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
