DALLAS — Regular service is being restored today on all Dallas Area Rapid Transit light rail lines through downtown Dallas.

In a service alert posted at 6:45 a.m. on the DART website, the agency says the service restoration is in progress, and the shuttle trains and bus bridges that have been operating since July 31 will be cancelled. “It will take some time to get service back on regular schedules,” the alert cautions.

The service through a section of downtown used by all four DART lines had been disrupted since a DART light rail vehicle caught fire on the afternoon of July 30, an incident being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board [see “Six hospitalized …,” Trains.com, July 30, 2025].

Dallas streetcar service, meanwhile, will be replaced for the second straight day by shuttle vans along its 2.45-mile route between EBJ/Union Station and Bishop Arts. A switch issue at Bishop Arts is the cause. No estimate has been announced for service restoration.
