Amtrak logo.NEW YORK — Amtrak expects to see winter-storm impacts through, and possibly including, Thursday, Jan. 29, the company says in an advisory early today (Tuesday, Jan. 27). It does not offer details on cancellations or other service changes today. It recommends visiting the Amtrak website or app, or its NEC Alerts and Amtrak Alerts feeds on x.com for the most up-to-date train status.

As of 7:30 a.m., the NEC Alerts feed lists only one cancellation, of Northeast Regional train No. 185 between New York and Philadelphia. In the Midwest, Lincoln Service trains 301 and 306, and Wolverine No. 353, are cancelled because of “trainset unavailability;” Amtrak says it is sourcing bus transportation to replace those trains.

As of 8 a.m., the train status section of the Amtrak website shows these additional cancellations on the Northeast Corridor:

  • Departing Boston: Northeast Regional No. 137, a 1:37 p.m. departure, and Acela No. 2171, a 3:10 departure.
  • Departing Washington: Northeast Regionals Nos. 170 (a 5:05 a.m. departure), 130 (6:30 a.m.), 112 (7:45 a.m.), 84 (11:10 a.m.), and 192 (7:12 p.m.); Acelas Nos. 2150 (5 a.m.), 2104 (8 a.m.) and 2122 (5:30 p.m.)
  • Southbound from New York: Northeast Regionals Nos. 111 (a 4:50 a.m. departure), 181 (5:45 a.m.), 113 (6:30 a.m.) 185 (9:25 a.m.), 119 (11:02 a.m.), 131 (12:10 p.m.); Acela No. 2117 (12 noon).

Cancellations elsewhere include Empire Service trains No. 235 (a 3:15 p.m. departure from New York) and No. 238 (a 12:10 departure from Albany), and the No. 80, the northbound Carolinian, north of Raleigh, N.C.
