
LOS ANGELES — Tom Schamber has been named as chief financial officer of Los Angeles-area commuter rail operator Metrolink. The appointment, announced Monday, Aug. 18, is effective immediately.
Schamber, who has more almost three decades of management experience in accouting, audit, and financial operations, has been with Metrolink since 2016 and has led the financial department in an interim role since April of this year.
“Tom has been instrumental in strengthening Metrolink’s financial position and ensuring we’re making smart, strategic decisions for our riders and the region,” Metrolink Chief Executive Officer Darren Kettle said in a press release. “His expertise, dedication and genuine commitment to public service make him the right leader to shape our financial future.”
As chief financial officer, Schamber oversees all aspects of Metrolink’s financial operations, including directing the annual budget process and allocating resources to meet service needs. He is also responsible for making agency processes more efficient and effective.
