ADDISON, Texas — In ceremonies today (Friday, Oct. 24), Dallas Area Rapid Transit marked the completion of its commuter rail Silver Line, with one of the route’s Stadler FLIRT trainsets breaking through a banner at the Addison station at the conclusion of a ride for invited guests from the Cypress Waters station in Dallas. The 26-mile line, connecting DFW International Airport to Plano, will begin public operation on Saturday (Oct. 25), with community celebrations planned at each of the route’s 10 stations [see “Dallas area sets three days of ceremonies …,” Trains.com, Oct. 22, 2025]. Rides on all DART services will be free on Saturday to celebrate the opening; Silver Line service will remain free through Nov. 8.
