FRASER, Colo. — The Colorado Department of Transportation will hold an open house meeting on Wednesday, June 18, to discuss the Mountain Rail proposal for passenger service between Denver and Craig, Colo.
The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7:30p.m. at Fraser Valley Elementary School, 125 Eastom Ave., in Fraser. It will be live streamed, with a recording of the event available one week afterward. For livestream information, visit the Mountain Rail website.
Officials will review recent developments, anticipated timelines for service commencement and opportunities for public involvement.
A new agreement between the state and Union Pacific for use of the state-owned Moffat Tunnel, finalized last month, allows for up to three daily passenger trains on the mountain route, not including Amtrak’s California Zephyr and the seasonal Winter Park Express ski train.
