The RSI is the leading organization representing the rail supply industry, from small component manufacturers to locomotive and railcar builders and lessors. The organizations say this broad membership uniquely positions the RSI to highlight suppliers’ essential role in the industry.

As a partner, RSI will have its logo displayed on the AmericanRail200 website marking the anniversary and its events [see “New website launched to help celebrate …,” Trains.com, June 18, 2025]. It has committed to amplify the anniversary in 2027 with its membership and beyond, and will work with the museum on the planning of its new Innovation Hall showcasing present and future rail technology. The Innovation Hall is scheduled to open in 2027.

“The invention of the railroad is often viewed as the internet of its time given its transformative impact on American life,” Kris A. Hoellen, executive director of the B&O Railroad Museum, said in a press release. “Having RSI as a partner, representing the technologies that ensure the rail system continues to innovate, is a natural fit to be front and center in the celebration.”

RSI President Jim Riley said, “RSI is honored to join this historic celebration. The Bicentennial is a chance to celebrate two centuries of progress while showcasing how rail will continue to move America forward.”
