Logo of MxV RailPUEBLO, Colo. — MxV Rail is launching a student travel grant program to enable future rail researchers and engineers to attend this year’s Association of American Railroads Research Review, set for April 28-30, 2026, at MxV Rail’s facility in Pueblo.

The program will provide up to $1,500 in travel reimbursement for the event as well as free registration.

“We are proud to invest in developing the next generation of rail innovators,” MxV Rail CEO Kari Gonzales said in a press release. “This travel grant program allows students to immerse themselves in research that directly impacts the safety, efficiency, and future of the North American rail network.”

The new program expands on a prior effort known as University Days as part of MxV’s commitment to fostering academic engagement and supporting students in engineering and physical sciences. The Research Review brings together industry leaders to showcase emerging technologies, research, and advancements in safety, testing, and innovation.

The grant program is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students at ABET-accredited U.S. institutions. The application, available here, includes a short form, a one- to two-page essay, and a faculty recommendation. It should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. The deadline to apply is March 6.
