
More than 20 years after he retired as Norfolk Southern’s CEO, David Goode still draws a crowd. Goode and his wife, Susan, and an informal host committee held a reunion of NS Thoroughbreds in the Norfolk, Va., area on Oct. 9. More than 100 NS alumni and friends from the Goode era gathered in Virginia Beach, Va.
The gathering included many members of Goode’s executive team, including Mark Manion (former chief operating officer), Deb Butler Painter (former chief information officer), Mike McClellan (current chief strategy officer), Jim Hixon (former chief legal officer) Lorri Kleine (former chief legal officer), David Julian (former vice president of safety and environmental), Bill Wooldridge (former vice president – law), Henry Light (former senior vice president – law), Jeff Heller (former vice president of marketing), Rob Martinez (former vice president of business development), Roger Petersen (former head of litigation) and Bob Wells (former head of claims), Chris Decker (assistant vice president of labor relations).
