FORT WORTH, Texas — BNSF Railway and COFC Logistics today announced an expansion of COFC’s service into the Eastern U.S. and Mexico.

The move allows COFC Logistics, which has a fleet of more than 8,000 containers, to deliver increased container availability to intermodal marketing companies. COFC sells container space and train capacity to intermodal marketing companies who work directly with shippers.

In addition to providing access into the Northeast and Southeast, the service will rely on Grupo Mexico’s Ferromex to reach Monterrey and Silao, Mexico. In the U.S., the new service includes Phoenix, and CSX terminals in Cincinnati, Chambersburg, Pa., Jacksonville and Winter Haven, Fla.

“This expansion is about empowering IMCs with the tools they need to compete and grow,” COFC Logistics Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jonathan Mulch said in a statement. “Our asset-light partners can now tap into a broader ecosystem with the confidence that COFC’s service reliability and operational excellence will support their growth. By leveraging our strong relationships with these Class I railroads, we are uniquely positioned to offer seamless, cost-effective access to key domestic and cross-border markets.”

“We are excited to expand the reach and capacity of our industry leading intermodal network to the IMC community through these key additions to COFC Logistics’ service offering,” said BNSF Group Vice President of Consumer Products Jon Gabriel. “By opening and connecting a network across more of North America, we’re not just adding lanes — we’re adding opportunity to the supply chain.”

“The addition of COFC to our service offerings enhances the ability to provide the growing market with capacity and experience to handle cargo, and we’re ready to serve them with a top-of-class service to fulfill expectations,” said GMXT Vice President of Intermodal Luis Hernandez.

COFC Logistics serves more than 72 lanes and partners with BNSF in the West and both CSX and Norfolk Southern in the East.
