The Stockton Record reports the derailment occurred about 8 a.m. A Union Pacific spokeswoman said three cars of soybean oil derailed and knocked over an electrical tower. No injuries were reported.

By 3:30 p.m., KCRA-TV reported, power had been restored to all but about 100 customers, and Pacific Gas & Electric expected most of those to have service restored by 5:30 p.m. PT.

UP said the cause of the derailment is under investigation.
