Logo of Guardian Rail, formerly Cathcart RailCOLUMBUS, Ohio — Cathcart Rail, which provides a range of freight rail services, has rebranded itself as Guardian Rail as of today (Oct. 27, 2025).

The company says the rebrand reflects its focus on safety, consistency and operational excellence, while setting the tone for a new chapter of growth, clarity, and purpose.

“We’re doing more than changing our name,” said Scott Driggers, named as the company’s CEO earlier this month [see “Cathcart Rail names Driggers …,” Trains.com, Oct. 14, 2025].  =“We’re making a commitment to what matters most — our clients and our team members. We’re promising to safeguard our customers’ time andassets, business continuity, transparency, and peace of mind. Our new identity is an affirmation of these principles we intend to bring to work everyday. We are committed to evolving as a company, developing our front-line team and putting the voice of the customer at the center of everything we do. We’re pledging to making Guardian Rail a company that both our clients and team members are proud to be part of and trust.”

Guardian includes a railcar service network with more than 100 facilities in 26 states and a rail services division operating three short lines and a dozen switching/transloading sites, as well as railcar parts, storage, and track maintenance. It was acquired in full in June of this year by Tikehau Star Infra, which had been an investor since 2022.

The company says it chose the name Guardian as “a signal of protection, readiness, and reliability in a complex and dynamic industry.” It says its new logo — with the letter G within converging railroad tracks — is intended to reflect its rail expertise while evoking forward motion, representing its drive to earn and maintain customer trust and strengthen the company’s reputation.

“We are proud to introduce Guardian Rail as a brand and rail services partner that stands watch over safety, quality, and every promise we make,” said Driggers.
