Editor’s note: TrainsPro comment feature

Commenting feature temporarily suspended to address unwanted posts

Logo of Trains ProDear readers: As of this morning, we have temporarily turned off the commenting function for TrainsPro articles while we address a steadily increasing number of spam comments that have been aimed at the site recently. The number of such posts — which include many that our filters keep from reaching readers — has reached the point where it degraded the website’s ability to function last weekend.

We are aware that we have an active community of commenters, and regret that you are currently unable to participate with that community. But we also have heard from many of you who are concerned about the spam posts, and hope this interruption will be brief while we find a better way to address the problem.

We appreciate your patience while we deal with the issue and hope to restore commenting as quickly as possible.
