SEATTLE — Sound Transit will begin simulated service on its new light rail Crosslake Connection on Saturday, Feb. 14, giving passengers the chance to ride additional trains on the Link 1 Line between the International District/Chinatown station and Lynnwood City Center. Service on the 2 Line will also be extended until midnight between Redmond and South Bellevue.

Two-car trains will be operating over the full route that will become operational with the opening of the Crosslake Connection, set for March 28. While passengers will not be able to ride on the new section, trains will be running over the full route from Redmond to Lynnwood, and the two-car trains will add capacity on the already operational sections. This will double the number of trains operating between International District/Chinatown and Lynnwood, with trains operating as frequently as every four minutes.

More information on the start of simulated service, and what it means for riders, is available here.
