Logo of BNSF LogistifcsDALLAS — David Ivan has been named president and CEO of BNSF Logistics, a third-party logistics firm and subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC.

The company announced the move, effective immediately, on Thursday, Jan. 29.

Ivan has more than 25 years of experience in leading complex, multi-site operations in manufacturing, logistics, and global supply chains. That includes serving as chief operating officer at BNSF Logistics and Vestas; the company credits him with large-scale transformations of multi-billion-dollar businesses.

“I’m excited to step into this new role at BNSF Logistics and to continue to work alongside such an exceptional team, focused on positioning us for long-term growth,” Ivan said in a press release. “I’m committed to investing in our people, technology and process excellence to create meaningful value for our customers and partners and am determined to keep that drive at the heart of everything we do.”

Ivan holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering technology from the Oregon Institute of Techology.

BNSF Logistics operates more than 40 offices throughout North America.
