NJ Transit logoNEWARK, N.J. — NJ Transit has suspended service on two commuter rail lines today (Monday, Oct. 13) because of a storm expected to bring heavy rains, strong winds, and potential flooding.

An advisory on the agency’s website says North Jersey Coast Line service is suspended between Bay Head and Long Branch — the 10 southernmost stations on the line — through the end of service today, as is the entirety of the Atlantic City Line. The Montclair-Boonton line is, as of 8:15 a.m. ET, operating with delays of up to 30 minutes because of an earlier downed tree near Glen Ridge. Other services, including light rail, are operating as scheduled but subject to change. Service has also been suspended on seven bus lines, with six others experiencing detours because of flooding.

New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority is not currently reporting any weather-related rail delays. The Amtrak Alerts social media feeds also do not list any current delays.
