Hi Dana i have a bachmann dcc alco switcher but it seems to light to run properly and the wheels just spin on the rails, is this normal and do i have to add a weight to it.? thanks

I agree. The sound does seem a little tinny. I remember it to be more like a deep-throated witch's pot trying to come to a boil. Blub—–blub–blubblub–blubbububulb–blubububu–etc. All you would need would be black smoke synced to the blubs with a few sparks also, Nice job.
Nice looking model however the sound dos not sound right. I was a head-end yard brake man on the New York Central in the mid sixties and we had both S2's and S3's and I'd swear they didn't sound like this. I'd still buy one though!
I have heard Lok sound on the hoof at one of our Friday night op sessions. We all thought it sounded like it was running in a tin can. Some sounds are too enhanced. Does not sound like any S-2 I was ever around. Just heard one of the Bacmans S-@'s at the Amherst show and I would take it over Lok Sound any day.
My father operated S2's & FM switchers doing switching work at the old Sinclair refinery in Marcus Hook Pa. As a kid i would spend hours watching & listening when not in school. (also hopping ) I can honestly say the engine sounds are very realistic the rattling clanks of the diesel is spot on. took me back. Nice job Atlas
Nice sounding unit! I wish they had it in UP yellow & gray! I can see where the sounds might need a tweak. I wish that LokSound was as user-friendly as Tsunami, that would make the programming easier.
I have Atlas' N scale version on order for my WP layout. I can't wait!
Got to say the sound was a bit better than other diesels. Still too loud out of proportion, but might be able to adjust that. The plus side is I could actually hear crankshafts turning over. Even though of course you don't get the earth shaking bass from the small speakers, the high frequency sounds weren't drowning it out.
My usual complaint about sound. This time the prime mover overrides the other sounds. In real life, one hears the bell or horn above the prime mover. And, why is the backup light on? Normal yard operations would have the headlight on, but dim so you don't blind the guys on the ground who are trying to see and signal the hoghead.
Dana, your coupling skills are improving, keep up the good work. Keeps the road foreman, yardmaster and claims department out of your hair.
