Just an update from my window dressing thread since I can take some real pictures now. These are just pics from Target and Penny's that I printed out.

 I am impressed!  They look so much better than mine, Mind sharing your ''how to'' secrets? Did you attach the curtains directly to the glazing or some other way?  They look so good.        Mike

Also did a Google images search for "blinds" and "drapes" I just saved the images I wanted and re-sized them to fit in MS Paint. I printed them out on my ink jet on 20lb copy paper. Sprayed them with some clear coat to seal the ink. (dull coat works too) I found a light coat of dull coat on the window glass (inside) made them look better. I used a heavy coat of clear coat on the drape and then placed the glass onto it while it was still wet. (note-Mikesmowers said he didn't have much luck with that method, but it worked on the ones that I did)
I also used some clear water based glue I found at Wal Mart to do some other ones. That stuck REAL good.
I just used plain old masking tape for the plain blinds.

 

Right. I sprayed the dullcote on the window BEFORE putting the drapes on. (and let dry) It looked better than putting the drapes directly over the clear window.

I sprayed a pretty heavy coat of clear on the drapes when gluing them to the window. Stick the window glass on the wet drape immediately.

Loathar, what a fantastic job. I too have Merchants Row III, I haven't started it yet, I hope i can do as well as you. Thanks for the how to.

I didn't plan on lighting my buildings, but here's the same sides with a single 12v bonfire bulb inside. Looks like I could use a second layer of masking tape for the pull down blinds. (EZ enough to fix) Guess you could print them on some 60 or 70lb text paper too if want them to show through less.




This was just a quick temporary thing to get the night shots. (I know it's got some light leaks.)
